A New Contemporary Conservatory

The Purdy Center will elevate the visitor experience. In the Welcome Center Atrium, guests can gather information and enjoy coffee, while the Conservatory Great Hall offers a breathtaking setting with skylights and expansive courtyards, promoting a seamless connection between indoor elegance and outdoor splendor.

Dynamic Botanical Displays

The Great Hall features ever-changing botanical displays, including a towering tropical Green Wall and an impressive orchid display on a custom-designed trellis. These elements ensure a novel sensory experience with each visit.

Educational and Cultural Hub

The Conservatory Veranda and landscaped courtyard, inspired by original 1930's designs, serve as vibrant spaces for education and gatherings, doubling as private event venues.

Simpson Art Center–Classes beginning September 2024!

The Simpson Art Center includes a state-of-the-art studio and sculpture conservation lab where guests will interact with nationally recognized sculptors and contemporary artists and accommodate a wider variety of classes and public programs. About 4,000 square feet, the new studio will support diverse media, including clay, wax, plaster, resin, 3D printing, and direct stone carving. Classes beginning in September 2024.

Hours: 9:30 AM - 5:00 PM | Daily

Gates close at 4:30 PM. For their safety and the safety of our animal collection, pets are not allowed, nor can they be left in vehicles inside Brookgreen. Service animals that have received special training to assist disabled persons are welcome.
