Did you know that creating art lowers the level of the stress hormone cortisol in the body? Art is good for you and fun, too! Come join this playshop (we're not working, we're playing, so why call it a workshop?) and see how you feel at the end of this two-hour creative splurge of words and images! All the tools -- and an embarrassment of supplies -- are provided. You don't need to bring anything except your close-up glasses.
About the Instructor:
Kate Stockman, a native of Charleston, designs art to honor Nature and the Self. A self-taught assemblage artist, Kate creates one-of-a-kind TouchStones Anecdotal Art (each piece tells a story; perhaps it touches your story) blending antique and vintage sterling, semi-precious stones, and handmade lamp work glass beads into remarkable jewelry combinations. Her Treasures ReCovered journals and photo albums revive antique and vintage book covers otherwise destined for the recycle bin. Her passion includes designing and teaching playshops where participants can enjoy creating their masterpieces in a safe, non-judgmental setting.
