Pollination is one of the most important processes in nature. It links plants and animals and is responsible for the biodiversity on our planet. Pollination is also critical for many of our food products. We hear these things all time, but what is pollination? Who are the pollinators? And, how do plants attract their pollinators? These questions and more will be addressed in this lecture.
About the Speaker:
Tierney Rosenstock has been interested in orchids and their ecology since 2006 when she traveled to the tropics and saw them growing wild hanging from trees. Since then, she has learned about the myriad orchids in North America. She studied a North American species for her master's thesis, was a member of the Native Orchid Conference, helped lead the Adirondack Orchid Survey, and collected samples for the Smithsonian North American Orchid Conservation Center.
