Programs will occur every Tuesday.

 

Southern Food Ways celebrates the diverse and rich culinary heritage of the South. It is a combination exhibit and pop-up shop, with weekly programming that delves into the unique flavors, techniques, and stories that define Southern cuisineā€”featuring local and regional authors, food entrepreneurs, and farmers.

 

Whether you're a seasoned cook or a curious foodie, this program provides a delicious journey into the heart of Southern hospitality and culinary tradition.

 

June 11th | 12:00PM - 3:30PM

Finch+Fennell - The diverse product line offers culinary creations, from quick and easy fixes to show-stopping meals for entertaining.

Tastings begin at noon:

  • Mini chocolate chips cookies with Cherrywood Smoked Sea Salt
  •  Champagne Honey Mustard with Pretzels
  •  Various Jams with creamed goat cheese on crackers
  • Popcorn with Truffle Parmesan + Black Garlic Seasoning
  • Green Chile Cornbread Mix

 

June 18th | 11:30AM: 

White House Farms - Don Quattlebaum will be providing rice samples after his 10:30AM presentation in the Jennewein Gallery

 

June 25th | 1:00PM - 1:30PM

Charleston Tea Garden - Representative, Tracy Lopez, will give a presentation on their naturally infused teas. Tastings will follow until 4:00PM

 

July 2nd | 10:30AM Bethea's Garden & 12:00PM Noble Gallery

Bethea's Garden Tour and Sampling: Join horticulturist Jason Flynn as he gives a tour of Brookgreen's own Bethea's Heritage Farm Garden in the peak of warm season vegetable growth. Come see what is currently growing, how it is being grown, what is being harvested, and shared in partnership with a local food pantry. In tandem Jason will share why understanding where our food comes from and how it is cared for is crucial to deeper growth for everyone and the health of the planet.

 

July 9th | 11:00AM

The Cheese Biscuit Queen - Mary Martha Greene will make her champagne mustard recipe to sample, as well as some of her famous cheese biscuits. Her book "The Cheese Biscuit Queen Tells All" will be available for purchase.

 

July 23rd | 1:00PM - 3:00PM

Eljay Pretzels - A brief presentation will take place in the Noble Gallery, and then samplings will be given in the Jennewein to follow.
