Acer palmatum 'Coonara Pygmy' was discovered as a witches' broom by Arnold Teese of Australia. It is a small, deciduous tree or shrub that grows to about five feet tall and wide. It is hardy in USDA Zones 5 - 9. It grows in full sun to part shade.

'Coonara Pygmy' is in the Dwarf Group. It has small, green leaves that turn from yellow to orange to pink in the fall. It naturally forms a rounded shape.
