It has been our experience that Emilia coccinea is a subtle addition to the landscape. We have found it best used as a filler plant and that its wispy qualities would likely make it a great addition to a cottage-style planting. We have also observed it tends to self seed readily. This is a plant that we feel can spread well beyond its intended space, making it weedy at times.
