It has been our experience that Lactuca sativa 'Simpson Elite' is not a good selection for our garden. We have found it to require frequent reseeding (about every two weeks) in order to maintain it as an ornamental plant. It has also been our experience that its performance was not always adequate and that it was fast to bolt (flower).
