In 2020 this plant displayed disease issues, although we were unable to diagnose what it was. The foliage became dry and crispy and eventually fell off the tree. No foliage emerged at a later point and it was discovered the top portion of the plant had died. It began sent a sprout from the base. The tree has since been cut to about two inches tall to see if the sprout will grow well enough to replace the missing portion of the plant.
